GOPO® – A Vital Difference
Thanks to patented extraction and drying processes, Rose-Hip Vital® powder contains the active compound GOPO® (glycoside of mono and diglycerol). GOPO® discourages large numbers of white blood cells from accumulating in the joint,thereby breaking the cycle of joint inflammation, alleviating pain and proteting cartillage.
Some white blood cells in the body contain granulocytes which enable them to ‘clean’ an inflamed joint by destroying the bacteria in it. Too many of these white blood cells actually wear down tissue cartilage. In large numbers they can also produce chemical enzymes and toxic free-radicals which cause even more tissue damage. Accumulation of white bloodcells combined with the release of chemical ubstances causes joint pain and inflammation. The more inflamed a jointbecomes, the more the white blood cells are attracted to it – a painful cycle.
Rosehip products that do not contain GOPO® have not been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties.

The humble rosehip is a true superfood. A wholefood, a fruit, packed full of 8 naturally occurring vitamins (including C, E, B1 and B6) and 23 minerals (including iron, copper, zinc and magnesium), essential fatty acids (omegas 3, 6 and 9), antioxidants and flavonoids.
The fruit is harvested from the Rosehip plant (Rosa Canina) farmed in the nutrient rich soils of Denmark. A highly specialised machine delivers a unique planting process by laying down plastic sheeting to insert young plants into the ground at precise intervals. Not only does this give plants time to produce the best quality fruits, it also allows their amazing root system to dive deep into the ground (well below the ploughing level) where they can draw precious trace minerals from soil that has not been depleted by modern agricultural practices.

THE SCIENCE
A randomised, controlled study on trotters during a three-month intervention period on the absorption of natural vitamin C and antioxidative capacity in horses suggests that the natural vitamin C from Rose-Hip Vital® Equine is absorbed sufficiently to raise serum vitamin C concentration and to reduce the liberation of oxidative anions.

Distributed by Rose-Hip Vital Pty Ltd, Rose-Hip Vital® Equine was first launched into the Australian market in October 2013 Following an intensive APVMA application process (Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority) lasting more than 3 years. Legislative changes in 2015 excluded END category products from APVMA registration. Rose-Hip Vital Canine falls into this END category classification which explains why we no longer have any reference to the APVMA on the product label. The boutique Australian owned family business located in Chatswood, New South Wales, first imported Rose-Hip Vital® for human consumption in 2002. Committed to supporting quality of life for people, dogs and horses, Rose-Hip Vital Pty Ltd deliver on their promise by providing only 100% pure and natural products made from patented rosehip powder imported from Denmark.
Hyben Vital ApS, the manufacturer of Rose-Hip Vital®, is also a family-owned business based on the Danish Island of Langeland. In the early 1980′s, a Danish Osteoarthritis sufferer, Erik ‘Farmer’ Hansen was dissatisfied with other forms of therapy. He was recommended to try rosehip marmalade, and impressed with the symptomatic relief, farmer Hansen refined the art of extracting and drying rosehips to produce a more potent extract.
Small scale production and distribution of dried rosehip powder began – and letters of appreciation from thousands of satisfied customers soon followed. What started on a few acres in the early 1980’s has grown into over 200 hectares with some 40 professional farmers in Denmark growing Rosehip full-time to keep up with the demand.
In 1995, Hansen’s son delivered some of the 5000 letters of recommendation his father received to an inflammation specialist based at Fredricksberg Hospital, University of Copenhagen in Denmark. Upon reviewing the feedback, in-vitro studies were instigated to assess the validity of the reported success at a formal scientific level, bringing impressive results supporting the high effectiveness of the rosehip preparation.
